CGHS Approved Rates

The CGHS rate schedule as notified by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, searchable by procedure, investigation or CGHS code. Unlike the Medicine Reimbursement Database, nothing here is a suggestion: every figure is reproduced from the notification.

What it is

The CGHS package rates for treatment at empanelled healthcare organisations, notified on 03-10-2025 and effective from 13-10-2025, in supersession of all previous memoranda.

Each entry carries the CGHS code, the procedure or investigation as the notification words it, and three figures — for a non-NABH hospital, an NABH-accredited one, and a super-speciality hospital.

Which ward the figures are for

The rates are for the semi-private ward. The same notification states a 5% decrease for a general-ward entitlement and a 5% increase for a private-ward one.

Consultations, radiotherapy, investigations, day-care procedures and minor procedures not requiring admission are uniform regardless of ward entitlement.

Reading a rate

Search by the procedure, by a word from it, or by the CGHS code directly — the codes run CN for consultations, LB for laboratory investigations, DP for dental, NU for nephrology and urology, and so on.

The tool header shows the date of the notification the figures come from. That date matters: a claim is decided by the rate in force on the date of treatment, so a superseded schedule is not interchangeable with the current one.

What it does not cover

The schedule is the rate list. It does not carry the notification's own guidance on package definitions, ward categories, ICU charges, admissible and non-admissible items, or the criteria for a super-speciality hospital — all of which sit in its annexures and govern how a rate is applied.

Three rows of the notification carry figures but no readable procedure name in the source document (codes DP060, OP101 and NS059). They are omitted rather than guessed at.
