How to use the Pay Revision | 2022 calculator

This walkthrough covers the Pay Revision 2022 calculator as it actually works: what you enter, what it produces, and how a whole office's worth of records is handled. It fixes revised pay under the Himachal Pradesh Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules and works out month-wise arrears — and it prints the documents that have to travel with the figures, not only the figures themselves.

What this tool does

It fixes revised basic pay from an employee's pre-revised pay and service history, then computes arrears month by month up to the date you choose. Every intermediate figure stays on screen, so a result can be checked line by line against an office order rather than taken on trust. All of the arithmetic runs on the server and the browser only displays what comes back, so there is one implementation of every rule and never a second opinion about the same figure.

What you enter

• Employee Details — name, IP code, date of regular appointment, date of birth and retirement age.
• Re-Revision Details, and the Option Date under HPCS (RP) Rules, 2022.
• Post & Pay Details — the pay scale, pay band and grade pay being revised from.
• Employment Status, for service that is not a plain continuous run.
• Additional Career Events — promotions, ACP, step-ups and the like, each with its own date.
• Calculation Options, Office Details for the printed documents, and any Arrear Payments already released.

What you get back

The output column carries six tabs. The Dashboard summarises the case at a glance; the Fixation statement shows the revised pay with every step that produced it; a chart plots the progression; the Arrear statement breaks the money down month by month against whatever has already been released. Two printable documents sit beside them — the Office Order and the Option / Undertaking form — so what you hand across a counter comes out of the same calculation as the figures on screen and cannot drift from them.

A whole office, not one case

The Database tab is what makes this a tool rather than a calculator. Records are saved to your own account and searchable, and an Overview shows arrears released against arrears still pending, filtered by group. Employees can be imported from a spreadsheet, and exported or printed in bulk — one PDF per employee, or a single combined document. Nothing is computed in the browser at any point, so a bulk run of eighty-nine records uses the same engine as a single one.

What it costs

The first three people you calculate are free. After that a new person costs tokens, and the button tells you which you are on before you press it. The charge is per PERSON, not per calculation — once someone is on your account you can recalculate, correct and reprint them as often as you like at no further cost, which matters because a figure is often revised twice before it is right.

Checking the result

Read the statement, not the summary. Each step of the fixation names the event that caused it and the date it took effect, so a figure you did not expect can be traced back to the entry that produced it. Where the tool cannot be certain of something, it says so rather than quietly choosing.
